The irony is that when life is hopping — and, consequently,
there is much about which to write — there is no time for blogging. Such has been the case yet again!
I could have written much more about Madrona if I had not
been busy getting ready for our first knitting class – our Front Room Knit
Studio “Knit Your Own Project” beginning course. And I could have written much about our
knitting class had I not been in a frenzy to get ready for Stitches West!
Projects that have been neglected on the needles have also
been neglected in the blog. And projects
– such as Sonja’s Pelty Stole – which have dominated my waking hours, have
rated a mere mention. By the way, did I
mention that I seem to have cast on my gull-inspired pi shawl, as well as a
baby “matinee coat” in peach Baby Ull and an “Yzma Blanket” for Sarah’s
“Blueberry”? I thought not. I could have written an entire episode on the
arithmetic mistake that led me to rip out the half inch of bramble stitch baby
blanket I had knit during Madrona – I figure it was about 1500 stitches.
Anyhow, I am packed for Stitches West – the baby projects
(on wooden circular needles) making nice innocuous knitting for the plane (my
Signature needles, along with the corkscrew, are nestled in the to-be-checked
bag). Sonja’s Pelty Stole lacks only the
mohair edging (which Sarah is knitting and will bring so we can sew it on in
the hotel room). Sarah and I each have
knitted garments to wear each day. We
are a “go”!
I am also bringing My Pet (mini notebook computer) and, if I
can get it together, will put up a blog post while we are there. That is the plan, but I expect that life will
be hopping and we all know what that
means!
