With Daylight Savings Time gone, morning is brighter earlier.  I, too, am brighter earlier – mostly because I wake with visions of Christmas Knitting dancing in my head.  It is November and I am so inspired and eager that I practically sing knitting songs in my head all the time!

Early this morning with the streaky sunshine filtering through the firs, I fidgeted around in bed until I could not stand it anymore.  Knitting, knitting, knitting!  So, I scuttled down to the kitchen and hit the coffee maker button, grabbed my knitting bag, and scuttled back to my warm bed and the streaky sunshine, settling in with the happy sigh of the slightly delusional as I chugged out rows of Christmas Knitting — feeling so “on top of it” and in the spirit of the thing and so deliciously industrious.

It is not unusual for me to knit in bed at night (instead of reading) – especially as Christmas approaches.  But knitting in the early morning and long before Thanksgiving is a new development!  For me, knitting in the morning is always sort of a luxury – so perhaps this knitting-in-bed-while-the-sun-rises is not as obsessive as it might sound.  Or even if it is, it is still a pretty nice way to start the day.
