Mohair is not suited to winter knitting. Sigh. It is so fine! Hands rough from the cold snag it.  It is hard to see in the dim afternoons and dark nights.  It is not what you want to be knitting when a heat-seeking cat jumps into your lap!

But it is so lovely!  Delicate as ice crystals, but cozy and warming.  It makes colors glow.  If there is Enchanted Fairy Yarn, it is mohair – whether blended with merino or silk (or both).  Even less expensive blends with a significant amount of nylon are exquisite. 

Although I am hard at work at my Christmas knitting, I make little time (most days) for my Christmas Candy mohair tam.  Just because.  It is my indulgence – like a peppermint mocha or gingerbread cookies.  It makes me merry.
