Whew!  I escaped!  A narrow escape, but an escape indeed.

I was dangerously close to starting Easter knitting for my grandchildren, but the mood has passed.  I even got so far as thumbing through pattern books, but even Dale of Norway, my ancient Kids’ Knits and the fabulously delightful Fairy Tale Knits could not tempt me.

It is still a month until Easter and (theoretically, at least) there would be time to knit some little spring lovelies (a cardigan and a vest, for example).  That is, there are enough hours between now and Easter morning to knit enough stitches to make the lovelies.  Hours that might better be spent on, oh, maybe knitting the other 6 or 8 projects that are in my knitting baskets at the moment.

And, after all, Sarah is knitting Easter lovelies for them for them already!  We would have to have two Easters (hardly liturgically sound!) if I were to start up some Easter lovelies as well.

So, it is good to let it go.

Besides, I have a couple of inspirations for Summer lovelies (the Pirate shirt and dress in Fairy Tale Knits  and the cunning hats that go with!) and Autumn lovelies (the Hansel and Gretel set in the same book – or maybe the Robin Hood Shirt…).

So, a narrow (and quite temporary!) escape.
