There is the sweater I am knitting: The Otter Rock Sweater.
I have been chugging away at it like the Little Engine That Could. Bound and determined to get it done. Hey, I had over half the front done and nearly that much done on the back too! And then yesterday, we held it up and laid it out and hmmmed and hmmmed — and finally admitted that it was too big around the bust. Shnarnkinfricken….! Well, it was. It fit fine around the hips and the waist shaping was good. But I had imagined that I have something of an hourglass figure and increased after the waist…and, well, I am shaped more like a pretty little pear. So, Sarah kindly ripped out rows and rows of stockinette and graciously put the stitches just above the waistline back on the needles. And here we go again — without increasing.
There is the sweater I am going to knit:
I found Elizabeth Zimmermann's "Green Sweater" on Jared Flood's Blog and loved it!
So, I seached for the pattern on Schoolhouse Press and bought it.
Then, I hunted the internet for yarn (something with a vintage look) and remembered how much I had loved everything at the Sanguine Gryphon's booth at Stitches West and ordered Spiel im Morgengrauen.
I am super excited!
Then, there is the sweater I want to knit:
I would love to replicate the charcoal linen Eileen Fisher jacket I wear all the time. It drapes beautifully, is a nice length, has fitted elbow-lenght sleeves, is absolutely the most practical spring/summer/fall jacket I own. Soooo, I would use my jacket for measurements, steal the lace pattern Sarah is using for some sock she is designing (just for a little interest) and knit it out of Blue Moon's Seduction yarn in "Rauen".
Mmmmmmmmm.
Okay, obviously I have sweaters on the brain!
