Sort of summer, sort of almost autumn.  The weather here is gorgeous and predicted to be so for maybe 10 days or so.  Maybe longer.  So summer continues.  But it is September and feels all back-to-schoolish too!

Knitting-wise, I am enjoying my summer projects: Glacier (which is lacey and summer-ish – although I can see it as a winter garment layered over a sweater or long-sleeved t-shirt), my Butterfly Q’mitl (the sections are done and blocked – but I have to knit 4 more butterflies! and then sew it up and add the lace edging), and the Gull Pi Shawl (I just keep chugging away at the edging).

And then there is the baby knitting!  Sonja’s baby (womb-name “Cletus” but will probably be named Owen) is due Nov. 19th – about 2 ½ months from now.  I started working on the garter Rashy Blanket again.  And I had better get back to working on the slip-stitch trousers that match the Tea Leaf Jacket (tho these are not newborn-sized – I’m kind of smart like that!).  I have been working on his “Yzma Blanket” – bright blue Baby Ull wool yarn knit in a textured pattern.  I am called Yzma by my grandbabies and these wool baby blankets are my special gift to them.

I am trying not to think about autumn projects too much yet…but I am remembering that I had bought yarn to knit Hansel-ish and Gretel-ish garments for Max and Gwen.  And the Turtle Sweater is a good autumn project – I should resurrect that, for sure.  I finished the summer version of the Tam For All Seasons and, reasonably, should be starting on the autumn version – tho I have not picked out yarn for it yet.  I do have yarn for a Fair Isle tam, of course – but that may get pushed to winter….Oh, I should finish my Woodland Socks, too…

I guess I am thinking about autumn knitting after all!

Fortunately, I find these later summer/early autumn days as energizing as I do inspiring.  Okay, that’s it – I gotta go knit something!
