Today we have been packing up the turkeys and the pumpkins and the classy artificial autumn leaf swags — to a non-stop Christmas carol soundtrack courtesy of Pandora. I drew up a colorful calendar for December with Holiday events cheerfully marked out in green, red, and pink (well, I needed a third color…). I wrote down a list of my Christmas projects on a page from my newest Holiday notepad and tucked it into my planner.
And so it begins….
This is the moment when it all seems so do-able. I am organized and prepped. Heck, most of my Christmas shopping is done! All that is left is the hands-on work: cleaning, decorating, baking, card-writing, gift-wrapping…and, of course, knitting.
The knitting is underway (well, most of it…) and going well. It is just a matter of getting in enough knitting time. I am contemplating strategies:
1) Try to get one thing finished and then move on to another project
or 2) Keep doing a bit on this one and a bit on this one so no one opens a bag of yarn balls on Christmas
1) Figure out how many hours per project and work out a timeline
or 2) Wing it, time-wise, and just keep knitting as much as possible each day
Probably the #2s are going to win out — they are more my style, I'm afraid!
So, we shall see what we shall see. Meanwhile, I think I will go fire up my needles in front of a good old Christmas movie!
