I continue to maintain the belief that I can finish my Scandinavian Sharf for our trip to London next week. It is a lace piece and is, oh. more than half-way done (if you don't count the silk/mohair nupp & eyelet edging which I decided it needed…). I have been planning to have it for my London trip for months. I have been envisioning it there in London with me (draped sophisticatedly off my shoulders, not rolled up in my knitting bag!). So, it feels like it is meant to be.
Hard to balance that with the reality. The reality includes remodeling 2 bathrooms (we are in process and a bit behind schedule…), a lot of taking care of the 6-month-old grandson time, World Wide Knit In Public Day on Saturday, getting the house ready for Sarah & the kids coming to spend the summer with us (did I mentioned that 2 of our 3 bathrooms are torn up at the moment?) — oh, and they arrive the day before we return from London π
The reality includes my Fantasy League Baseball team and the feral cat who has a family of 5 kittens living under our back deck. And a dishwasher that is standing in the middle of my kitchen and cannot be installed until some kind of hose arrives. And wedding rsvps. And keeping our youngest cat from getting out into the backyard and fighting with the feral mother cat. And wedding-related fashion issues. And trying to remember which bathroom has running water.
But I close my eyes and see my Scandinavian Sharf in all its lacey, mohair-edged glory in London next week!
