I have packed three knitting projects for my trip to London (I say this very quietly so the rest of my projects do not hear — they would clamour to go!).
This is a (very quiet) record for me in knitting self-discipline and being-realistic-ness. These are good travel projects — Mermaid Socks, Pineapple Bag, Color Affection. Notice that there are no design projects listed (shhhh) — since they require brain and I plan to be using my brain in London on things like historic sites, theatre, galleries, and figuring out the Tube. I have reminded myself (very quietly) that I am going to one of the most exciting cities in the world and that I really am not going to have a lot of knitting time while I am there — especially since we are going to be spending as much time as we can with our son Geoff.
So, (again, very quietly) just a little companionable knitting for the plane, for "down time" in the afternoons or evenings, and in case there is a lobby bar with good lighting.
And lest anyone think I have lost my senses completely, I will admit that I have packed all the yarn for all three projects — in case I somehow develop knitting super skills and get past a single ball of yarn on any of them — and I have already checked out some of the London yarn shops!
Hail Britannia!
