I thought I would do a quick "show and tell" post with photos of my current projects.
It was going to be a few quick snaps, download, upload, title — boom! Since I am a little behind in life right now — having done jury service over the past 2 weeks — I I am trying to be really efficient today. Well, I had to gather up all the projects, untangle yarn, lay each one on my desk, take a few photos…then, after I finished, I realized that I should really have taken the photos outside.
So, I hauled everything outside and then decided I would bring out a handsome chair and get a little artsy. And then I had to untangle yarn and lay out each project (forgot to mention that the first timeI headed out one door and got a face full of spider web! ick! decided to go out a different door…). Photo, photo, photo (realize that I pulled the needle out of some stitches on my Pineapple Bag while arranging it for photos –oops! will have to fix that…).
Haul everything inside. Start to download the photos — intending to lable them "September Projects" and put them in my September Blog Photos file, but the cat interferes and I hit the wrong button at the wrong time and they all go sliding into my July Blog Photos file under the title "Septmeber"…
BUT here they are!
This is an Autumn sock I am designing with KnitPicks yarn — the color is "Time Traveler" which I think means it is kinda vintage-y. Reminds me of vintage kitchen towels. Have not named the sock yet, but it has a leaf lace panel in front and a lacey-rib that looks leafy all around.
The shoulder & arm strips for the top-down Frog Tree Alpaca color block sweater. Not too exciting yet! It has been too hot & summery for me to work up much enthusiasm for a warm pullover — but once the rains start up I will get rolling!
Owen's trouser leg (the 2nd one). Goes with the Tea Leaf Jacket. Both his parents think these are way too weird for their son to wear, but I persevere!
The Pineapple Bag. Have just begun the body of the pineapple in ecru. It is a LOT of knitting!
The Color Affection is almost done! I am knitting the final couple inches of border. Can't wait to start my next one — The King Tut Color Affection!
The Leaves of Grass (Pi Shawl) is coming along beautifully. A joy to knit. Tosh merino yarn (the photo, even taken in sunlight, does not do the color justice!) mmmmm. It looks like a big lumpy bag right now, bu the stitches are gorgeous, trust me.
A finished piece deserves 2 photos! The WingSpan — worked in 2 variegated yarns (the more colorful one is a Blossom Street yarn, the neutral one is a CascadeYarn Eco Duo (alpaca & wool). I increased the stitch count to make it a larger piece — and added an extra "wing" too.
Okay, that is my show and tell! Do we all get to have snack now?
