The title, I realize now, sounds like part of my adventures in Elko, Nevada! Well, there were some adventures, but none involving snakes — oh, except the trip to The Pet Emporium where there were all these gorgeous snakes and a couple of huge tortoises roaming the shop (only the tortoises were free-range — the snakes were in glass cases… tho it really did sound pretty thrilling there for a moment, didn't it?).
Speaking of Elko, I don't think I even posted photos showing how wonderfully the colors of my Affection For Elko Shawl matched the colors of Elko — a complete surprise to me! I cannot call it coincidence. A blessing, perhaps.
Fabulous, right?!
But back to the Snake Patch. As you may recall, I like to patch my sweaters with amusing knitted appliques. I have done leaves and flowers, mostly. When I noticed another hole in the left elbow of my cozy animal-print cashmere sweater (I lean on my left elbow when I knit in the evenings…), I decided that a snake would fit nicely next to the leaves I had there already.
The Hole.
The Snake Patch. Self-striping sock yarn — I just improvised the design, figuring a snake is basically an i-cord with a head.
