It had
not been my intention to leave photos of myself up on my blog for a week! lovely tho the cowl is…
Last
Saturday, my mother-in-law Helen (who will be 94 on March 18th) fell in her
apartment and since she had chest pain after the fall, we had her taken to the
hospital. We met her in the Emergency
Room there and they found that while she had suffered no injury in the fall,
she had blood clots in both lungs! We
agreed to have her treated with blood thinners and she responded well. Thursday she was discharged from the hospital
and moved to a skilled nursing care center.
Hopefully, she will return to her assisted living apartment in a few
weeks.
Meanwhile,
there had been further information on my Dad's health condition — not the kind
of information one hopes to hear. And,
of course, through it all we are dealing with George's recuperation from knee
replacement surgery (3 weeks ago). All
the trips to the hospital to see his Mom (and the 4 hrs. in the ER) with his
walker and ice packs for his knee….
Quite a
week.
And I
have appreciated my knitting — even though I have been able to do only the
most repetitive patterns. It has been my
companion and my comfort, a link to "normalcy" when things have been
a bit surreal.
Today the
sun is shining, both George & I have had a pretty good night's sleep — and
life goes on. His Mom is doing
well. My Mom & Dad are doing
okay. I picked up the instructions to
Sarah's lace top and it made sense…..
