I have been “absent” from my blog for a couple of weeks. As usual, it was due to a family situation. My Dad, who had been growing weaker over the winter, went into a decline. He died peacefully on March 15th and we had the funeral a week later. George and I, as well as my sister Nancy and her husband Mark were with him when he died. Mark, an Episcopal priest, was saying the Last Rites and as we prayed together commending his spirit to God, Dad passed into God’s keeping. The funeral was a beautiful tribute. Dad had a long, blessed, abundant life — he was deeply loved by his family and we will miss him so much.

While I have not had it in me to write about knitting during this time, I have certainly been knitting! And grateful to do so. It has been familiar and comforting. My knitting is a good companion, especially when words do not come easily or I just need quiet time. It has soothed my thoughts and calmed my body.

Well, there it is. I look forward to getting back int I regular blogging — and I even have a little impromptu Easter knitting to show next time.
