So, for all my fine talk about keeping summer alive until autumn officially arrives…well, the skies are gray and the leaves are starting to turn and it no longer feels like we are eating dinner in the middle of the afternoon.  Last night, my toes got chilly and I almost put on a pair of socks.  It is not my fault that there and squashes and (really?!) Brach's Candy Corn in the grocery store, is it?

I am holding fast to my summer projects, though!  Chugging away relentlessly on the Blues Inversion Cardigan (it is sooooo close to done!) — taking breaks only to work on the Beachy Q'mitl or my pink baby knitting.  And then when I went to my studio space to get another ball of blue Araucania for the Inversion, I found myself poking around for the Jamieson"s Shetland Spindrift I suddenly remembered buying sometime last year to make a tam.  Found it too! Lovely stuff: blues, grays, and golds.  So, I admired it and visited with it for a bit — and began thinking about mitts to match the tam…And then I put it down and returned to the Inversion.

So, I am beating autumn back with a stick, at this point!  In fact, as soon as I post this, I am going straight over to the living room, plunk myself down in front of the Mariners-Royals game and knit on the Inversion.  And if the bag of Shetland Spindrift tags along to keep me company, I will be polite but firm.
