Autumn is here! And I have been enjoying working on my Autumn Q’mitl (tho it needs a more descriptive name…). The Noro section is gorgeous and feels heavenly. I swatched a slip-stitch pattern in the mohair/silk (peachy orange & yellow green) which turned out just as I had hoped. There will be a section of the mohair/silk striped with a dark brown alpaca yarn too.
This morning, I realized that I cannot make a decision on the Blanket Cardigan colors until I get home. My eyes and brain are full of Elko, Nevada’s colors and climate — so very different from our Pacific Northwest! As you can see in the photo below. It is beautiful here — blue skies that reach forever in every direction, the exquisite Ruby Mountains, sage brush and pines and golden grasses….And if I choose my colors now, they will suit this region and not ours — and since I will be wearing this sweater in Tacoma, I had better “see” it there!
