So after a ridiculous amount of time spent studying and debating the various Pendleton wool blankets (especially in relation to the various Tosh DK colors) as inspiration for my Caramel Cardigan, I kind of departed from them altogether and went with a forest-y color way. I realized that I would have to use 4-6 colors to get the look of the blankets — and when I played around with that many colors in solid stripes, it all began to get rainbow-ish.
What I did pick up from the Pendleton blankets is the juxtaposition of warm and cool colors. So, after I decided on brown (Whiskey Barrel) for the main color, I chose both a cool green (Jasper) and a warm green (Filigree). Like so many the Tosh yarns, there is a variegation of hues — so even with the solid and regimented stripes, there should be a nice murky organic quality going on.
