Okay, not a song exactly, but certainly a happy humming now that my favorite time of year has arrived πŸ™‚

Early September is particularly delicious. The earlier sunsets and cooler temperatures whisper "Autumn knitting" enticingly while the blue skies and glowing sunshine add — even more seductively — "And you have so much time…why, the trees are still green and the dragonflies are still about…"

So, it is time to transition from my Summer projects to the Autumn ones.  Fortunately, the warm afternoons and sometimes intense sun are keeping me working on the Quintessential Summer Q'mitl and the Bokeh Tank.  Both of those could be worn in Autumn anyhow — the first over a long-sleeved t-shirt or sweater and the second under a cardigan or jacket.  The Linum Tee and a couple of other sleeveless things (to go over camisoles) are being hibernated, however.  And I am planning to pick up a couple of cold weather projects that rested over the summer months — including the Bailiwick Pullover.  I am waffling over the Gyre Cardigan.  It certainly could be worn over a long-sleeved t-shirt — but it is such a beastly amount of Twisted Rib Stitch that I can hardly face it anymore!  Well, we will see.

I am knitting away on Colette's Yzma Blanket — she is due in about 4 weeks!!  And I think I had better knit a "C" for her after I finish Owen's "O".  I am also working on my 'Hawks Socks again now that Football Season is here.  And yesterday I went prowling among my "in process" projects to see what I could find.

I confess that I found a number of half-finished Autumn projects — that is largely due to the way Christmas knitting barges in around mid-October!  But that means I am just that much further along — as if I last Autumn I was knitting ahead for this Autumn (which kinda puts me ahead of the game!)

I always get all ambitious and energized and organizational in September — and I am thinking about making up a chart for which project should follow which project.  For example, when I complete the Bokeh Tank I can re-start the Bailiwick Pullover.  Sarah and I are doing a KAL (knit a-long) project too (more about that in a later post) and she has suggested we set objectives to meet by specific dates — we have never done that before and it would be interesting to try πŸ™‚
