My friend Joyce has decided that she has to limit her knitting — so, being a sensible person, she decided to limit her yarn stash to projects she really wants to knit. So, she bagged up the bulk of her stash and gave it to us! All good stuff — mmmmm! Lots of blues and grays, fine sturdy wools, a few surprises.
I decided that rather than integrate the yarn into our stash bins, I would keep it intact. So, I obtained 4 bins and divided it up more-or-less by quantities (if it was a single ball it went into one bin, 2 or more in another…), and dubbed it the Joyce Stash (you may recall references to the Staci Stash which came our way similarly).
A knitter’s stash reflects her knitterly style and attitude — but it is all about her visions and dreams. Each yarn in the stash spoke to her:
“I am a pair of socks!”
“I am the color of the July sun striking the Mediterranean Sea!”
“I exist solely to become lace and wrap around your shoulders!”
“I am super cool and also On Sale!”
And when I go to the Staci Stash or the Joyce Stash, I get to tap into that inspiration, their intuition and discernment. I come away with a yarn I might never have met any other way, a yarn with a destiny no one could have predicted! And my project will be all the richer and more interesting.
My sincerest thanks to Joyce — and again to Staci — for your yarn and for your faith that, in our hands, it will thrive and flourish, that it will boldly go where no yarn has gone before, that it is a far, far better thing….
Okay, well, you get the idea 🙂

And speaking of knitting, I have finished 3 Adorable Baby Cloches and am just waiting for the Adorable Baby to make her appearance! Any day now!!!
