December is here! I did my last row of non-Christmas knitting Monday night (it was actually the second half of a row — and only because I did not want to let it sit that way until Dec. 26). I am blatantly knitting during daylight hours whenever I have the chance and am taking my knitting to bed so I can knock off a few rows before I surrender to sleep.
I am thinking perhaps a wiser knitter would not be improvising a gift project (well, 2 projects actually) in a technique entirely new to her — esp. when said projects need to be shipped across the country in time for Christmas. But otherwise I am feeling that I am being pretty reasonable about the Christmas knitting this year.
There is some Christmas sewing on the agenda too. Some gifts and a Christmas stocking for little Colette. I plan to sew on Thursday and Friday. Saturday we host dinner following Colette’s Baptism. Then, Sunday we commence the decorating frenzy! I broke down and unpacked our Christmas dishes yesterday (even tho I had said we would not get any Christmas stuff out this week before the Baptism) so I can have festive coffee mugs in the morning.
We have been playing Christmas music pretty much non-stop and last night George said Bring It On! and we watched Muppet Christmas Carol with the fireplace blazing. So, Welcome December!
