In the realm of weird things that develop within families, we have “penguins” that represent each family member (I use the quote marks because two of the “penguins” are not actually penguins but are a puffin and a woodpecker). Naturally, as it became a family thing, I have had to add a penguins for each grandchild as he/she came along. The most recent ones have been knit. Naturally (pretty much my initial response to any need has become “Is this something I could knit?”).
Gwen’s wolf pup came about because Max has a wolf. I think Gwen’s initial response to any need has become “Is this something Yzma could knit?” Being an artist herself, she provided me with a paper model. I found a charming pattern for a white wolf from Linda Dawkins of Mamma4earth. The penguin pattern is from Sarah Gasson of http://www.knitables.com.
