Okay, life is not all blanket knitting here. I finished my Triangle Trois Shawl a couple of weeks ago and finally blocked it when George and I were at a hotel in Portland last week — there being no place in our house with a protected flat space large enough to block a shawl at present.
I love it!!! It is the perfect size to wear over my favorite J.Jill tank tops. And it feels wonderful. So wonderful that I am recklessly casting about for ideas of what else I could knit of Koigu and drape over my bare shoulders all summer.
This shawl was my Knit-Along project with Sarah. I bought 3 shades of Koigu yarn for each of us in New York City last summer — with nothing specific in mind, but knowing we would come up with something delicious.
We decided to combine what we learned in Brooke Nico’s “Beyond the Triangle” class with Evelyn A. Clark’s “Knitted Lace Triangles” book — using the lace charts from the book, but making 3 triangles instead of the traditional 2 and widening the ribs between the triangles to make a larger piece. It drapes beautifully and is rather like a little sweater. I am wearing it now and probably will not take it off til November!
