Everything I needed to know about knitting Fox Paws I learned, um … from knitting Fox Paws.
What I have learned:
Never assume you have “got it now” and can just cruise.
Don’t get cocky even on the stockinette sections (that is where I forgot to knit the last purl row and knit most of the next section with the Right Side on the Wrong Side).
Honor your Life Line! Put one in regularly and be grateful for it when you have to pull back the rows you just knit with the Right Side on the Wrong Side.
Be attentive and careful when tinking back those complicated decrease sections (decreases worked on top of decreases) so that you catch up every blasted one of those blasted little blasted stitches.
Do not tink back angry.
If you end up with not enough stitches or too many stitches accept that there is an error — even if you cannot freaking find it after an hour of tinking and re-knitting and freaking tinking again.
Remember not to tink back angry.
Honor your Life Line.
Do not knit Fox Paws during extra innings of a Mariners game…or when there are 2 or more grandchildren in the room…or after a heavy meal…or any time when you cannot devote every fiber of your being to knitting Fox Paws.
Fox Paws is gloriously challenging! I love it 🙂
