It is crunch time for Summer Knitting! As in, get it done before it is too late. Not too late to wear — I anticipate being able to wear summer knits until mid-October. But too late to care about knitting them. I admit I am a fickle knitter when it comes to seasons. My knitting is dictated by weather, leaf color, hours of daylight versus hours of darkness, by temperature and the feel of the air.
And I know that Autumn is coming. And before Autumn comes the end of Summer. And before the end of Summer comes the end of Summer Knitting.
I am already plotting a little Autumn Knitting, I confess, but my Summer Knitting still feels pertinent. So, I am hurrying it along as much as I can (a particular challenge with all the family summer activities!).
I did finish Linum Tee (designed by Bristol Ivy) and it is ideal! I have a photo of me wearing it in Bellingham last week (George and I had a little get-away there — which was also ideal!). The top “lacy” part (actually a Fisherman’s Rib) with the neck shaping and all was a bit tricksy and I worried during the finishing .. But it turned out to be a beautiful piece. I love linen!
