Hazy, dazy, lazy — call it whatever you want. It is the end of July, it is something like 90 degrees outside, it is a week til we go to the Beach and I don’t feel like doing anything but knitting, reading, eating strawberry-rhubarb pie, and playing ye olde games like mancala, cribbage, and chess (preferably with a cold glass of Sauvignon Blanc at hand).
So, even tho I tried to speak to myself sternly about taking pictures of my completed Floral Summer Mini Poncho fringe and all, I haven’t done so. Nor am I inclined to photograph the exquisite Shibui yarn Sarah and I bought to make a couple of exquisite projects with. The projects are Symphony of Stripes (a mohair shawl of gorgeous-ness) and Boxed Lilac (a square top that we are converting to color-block and switching to different lace patterns). Both of these are featured in the Summer 2015 Knitters Magazine. I think I can summon up enough motivation to snap a couple photos of the magazine pictures since I have it next to me 🙂
It is not that I am doing nothing around here. There are still 11 of us living in the house (including 5 grandchildren) and no one here ” does nothing”. I have been to swim lessons and 2 grocery stores today, dealt with some rather foul laundry, and compelled the 2 oldest kids to sit quietly on the couch while I read a chapter of Pippi Longstocking. I have changed a poopy diaper, managed my fantasy baseball team, and swatched some lace (for the aforementioned square top).
And now I would hide in the shade on the back deck with my knitting and my books if I thought I could get away with it.
Hazy, dazy, lazy, maybe a little crazy. O Summer days!
