When we left for New York City, it was Summer here and when we got back it was Fall — calendar-wise, but also in every leaf, in the scents carried by the breeze, in the quality of the daylight, in the touch of the night air! Happy Fall!
I finished the last of this year’s Summer Knitting before we left: The Gyre Cardigan. I LOVE it! The perfect weight for our climate and the perfect length, color, and silhouette for my wardrobe. I have worn it with sleeveless tops, but it should transition to Fall and long-sleeved tees just fine. I accessorized it with my new gray spiderweb print infinity scarf to celebrate the first day of October ( and the beginning of the Halloween Season!). I love its swing and the pretty shadow it casts.
Fall Knitting had already crept into my work-bag before we left, so I do not have anything new to declare at this point. The Color Blocks Puzzle Box was perfect airplane knitting, so progress has been made there.
Upon my return home, I resolved to get Colette’s “Yzma Blanket” done for her birthday on October 9th. And I think I am going to make it! I am on the top border now.
I am also looking forward to wearing my Fall hand-knits as the weather cools. I am feeling the chill in the evenings and am itching to start my larger triple-triangle lace shawl — how cozy it will be!
Happy Fall to All!
