We are still munching Christmas cookies here and enjoying the tinsel and sparkle. And I am still cheerfully working on some Christmas Knitting. However, I can now share photos of a couple of projects that were done in time to nestle under Christmas trees.
I love using mohair in slip stitch patterns with other yarns. The mittens and ear warmer I designed and knit for Geoff's girlfriend Caitlin is made of luxurious alpaca & silk yarns accented with silk/mohair. Soft and warm and fresh!
Sarah and I designed and knit a scarf for my son-in-law Dave's mother, Barbara. It was a commission from Sasha and Dave — requested in November (and handed off to them at Thanksgiving!). It is called The "My Mountains" Scarf because it could be made in any colors and textures that evoke the knitter's or recipient's favorite mountains. We plan to write up the pattern and make it available this winter.
