Sarah and I are PUMPED for Madrona Fiber Arts Winter Retreat this week! The knitting, the knitter's, the knitting rock stars, the classes, the marketplace of yarn-y delights….We are taking classes Saturday and Sunday, but plan to open the marketplace Thursday morning.
Sarah is knitting a fabulous shawl of her own devising to wear at Madrona, but I know I cannot finish any of my current garments in time. And I was sighing deeply over this while showing Sarah the first glove in a series I am designing (mitts and fingerless gloves using traditional counterpart patterns) and she said, "Well, wear that to Madrona." Brilliant girl! So tonight I am working away at the second glove! All the thinking and figuring and measuring is done — it is just a matter of following my own notes.
(I confess that I felt a little guilty working on these gloves instead of working on Sarah's Christmas gloves, but Sarah admitted that she has not touched my Christmas socks in a week because she is working on her shawl, so now I can steam ahead without wrinkling my conscience)
