It is Spring in all but name here today!  Our Springs usually begin before February ends and last through June.  So, being ambitious in our Spring Knitting is highly defensible πŸ™‚

My Spring Knitting this year is particularly perky.  It includes my Ridiculously Happy Yellow Socks (nearly neon yarn and a field of lace flowers):

The Bailiwick Pullover by Courtney Spainhower in yellow baby alpaca/Pima cotton Serena from Manos — it is like knitting butter! (Note: since yellow is a terrific Autumn color too, both the socks and pullover will be fabulous come September — Brilliant!)

This cashmere lace shawl in the sweetest Spring green:

And the piece de resistance, my Secret Garden Q'mitl!  It reminds me of the book because of the bare dormant trellis section (Kidlin — linen & mohair w/nylon) juxtaposed with the exuberant green leaf lace (linen) and bobbly pinky blossoms (Tosh merino light).  The Kidlin section will be bordered by the bright  green mohair/silk and accented with the bright pinky mohair.  Not a chance that it will be done for Easter, unfortunately — but perhaps for Mother's Day and my birthday in May?

All four of these projects were conceived — and 2 actually started — in previous Springs. They called out to me in the dim wooly winter nights and are bursting from my needles fresh and renewed!  How appropriate in this season of re-birth when the old plum and cherry trees blossom and even the staid fir trees put forth bright green tips of new growth, right?  Happy Spring and Happy Spring Knitting!
