I am writing from Reno, Nevada today.  We are visiting Sasha & Dave (our daughter & son-in-law) and are having a lovely time.  We flew in last Thursday (which is why I did not post a blog — it would only have been a flutter over which projects I should take or not — btw I brought a sock, a lace edging, a lace shawl, a garter piece, and Nadita's Dreambird, but more on THAT particular project in a later post!) and have been seeing the sights, going to restaurants, hanging with Sasha & Dave, etc.  Enjoying the natural beauty of Nevada and patting their dogs, seeing a couple of movies, visiting Jimmy Beans Wool….WHAT?!  Yes, Jimmy Beans Wool is based here in Reno!  Who knew?! (well, okay, lots and lots of people knew, but I didn't..)

So, yesterday while Sasha was at work, George and I drove out to JBW and, oh, what fun!  They have a terrific store, of course, with all the colors of all the yarns (and when you see 4 skeins of something sitting on the shelf you know there is a whole box of it back in the warehouse behind the store!).  We were led into the warehouse itself for the Madelinetosh sale — boxes and boxes of "one of a kind" skeins all sorted by weight and sold "3 for such-a-deal"!  So, I spent a goodly amount of time elbow-deep in Tosh and THAT is a lovely thing to be!  Selected yarn for a fall sweater in Tosh DK and some Tosh Light for Sarah 🙂

(I am going to wait to show Sarah's yarn until after she gets to see it in person!)

Back in the main store, while visiting all the yarn, I found some for a dynamic shawl pattern I have been wanting to make.

And they had a great selection of summery yarns — linens, cottons, blends.  I plan to pair this ocean-y Bella Lino linen/viscose/cotton with Rowan's stunning yellow Pure Linen for an-over-a-tank sort of piece.

Everyone there was lovely too.  I had a good chat with the the ladies knitting at the table in the shop and everyone who worked there was pleasant and helpful.  Even the workers in the warehouse seemed to be having a blast, talking and laughing all the while.  I had a terrific time and I did, indeed, hit it big in Reno!
