Christmas continues to recede slowly — like the tide going out. The van has been liberated from the Christmas trees tho the lingering evergreen fragrance is about enough to knock you out! Imagine a couple of those pine air fresheners on a gargantuan level…..
Evelyn (the 3-yr-old grand-daughter) and Popi (the 57-yr-old grandfather) took down most of the outdoor lights today while it was still dry out. Tomorrow it is supposed to warm up a bit and start raining. So, our dreams of snow have about gone the way of our dreams of a Seahawks Super Bowl. Both would have perked up our winter. Oh well.
We swear that tomorrow we will take down the indoor decorations. George has been well enough for a storage unit run since Friday, but we have had a full weekend — the stage play of The Rocky Horror Show, a bowling party, "Jimmy Buffet Night" at our club (sounds like we are on a cruise ship!).
In between events, I managed to block my brilliant blue big-knit shawl — Madeline Tosh A.S.A.P. yarn knit on size 19 needles. It is a fabulous lace piece that invigorates more boldly than even a pine-infused minivan! I will take photos tomorrow — this gorgeously intense yarn deserves natural light.
And now, quiet music (of the non-Christmas variety), hot tea, and a delicious slip-stitch pattern beckon.
