On Sunday, I woke with a head cold.  So, I took the day off.  Which means I stayed home and did nothing useful.  It was glorious!  I read, made some progress on the eternal needlepoint project, and knit on whatever I felt like knitting.  I completed the raccoon face on one of my mitts. Adorable!

When I come down with a cold, I can usually get away with one day off.  And I made the most (or, perhaps, the least) of it.

Come Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, I still felt lousy, but life goes on.  I was behind on the laundry (which is something of a crisis in a household of 6 — 5-yr-old Owen stood in the middle of the house and hollered "Will somebody do the laundry?! My basket is over-flowing!!").  And other obligations and commitments loomed.  The grandchildren could no longer be put off with "Yzma is sick."  I get one day when I have a cold and Sunday was it.  But it was glorious while it lasted.

I am selfishly glad the illness happened while I am gone and hope you are better next week when I will very definitely need you as my walking partner!
