So, the Spring Knitting is in full flow and I am feeling refreshingly optimistic about getting it done.  "Getting it done" means finishing these pieces on time.  "On time" means for Easter.

Not that it really matters if they are done for Easter — not like Christmas Knitting should be done for Christmas.  But Easter seems to me like the logical deadline for Spring garments.  Probably this harks back to the years when I was sewing Easter clothes for my children.  Now, those really did have to be done for Easter — you cannot show up in church with 3 kids in spanking brand new Easter outfits and one in her Christmas dress (well, you can, but….).  I am suddenly reminded of the year when one of my daughters (who shall remain nameless — since it really was not her fault) discovered a pin sewn into the sleeve of her dress at the most sacred moment of Easter mass….

Anyhow, here are my official Spring Knitting projects — tho even if I do get them all completed by Easter, I probably will not be wearing as an ensemble to church…or maybe I will!

This is a cowl to wear around the shoulders — to keep me cozy in the frigid, wet winds that tend to show up this time of year!  Perfect to go with those lovely, light Spring clothes that are never warm enough.

The Racoon Mitts!  The first is knit, the second nearly knit.  Then, the sewing up, weaving in loose ends, blocking.  Oh, and the eyes — I have to embroider the eyes (or they will look like sleeping raccoons, right?). Like the cowl, they should be good to go for Easter!

The Ridiculously Happy Yellow Socks.  Highlighter bright with little lace flowers.  Tiny stitches and not likely to be done by Easter — which may be just as well as I would need the smartest pair of black patent leather Maryjanes to pull it off!  But they are terrifically cheering to knit when it is pouring rain outside — and if they are not done before sandle weather hits, they will be just as delightful to wear in Autumn 🙂
