I want to go on a knitting retreat. Now. Today.

I keep seeing announcements for them — they pop up in my email with tantalizing photos of Adirondack chairs and peaceful lakes. I can almost smell the coffee and hear the click of needles. In fact, I find myself fantasizing…

Idyllic natural setting. Perfect weather. Cozy lodge with well-thought-out simple comforts. Good food that someone else prepares (I don't even want to have to figure out what to order…).  I see it all!  The morning scones, the comfortable chairs, the glass of wine after dinner.  Maybe a little walk to stretch the legs in the morning.  Some slow yoga in the afternoon.  Hand massages before bed.

And, of course, knitting with knitters.  That's the best:)

So, yes, I would be ready for just a little break from it all.  In some leaf-rustling, water lapping spot with the special camaraderie of knitters knitting — all of us with our favorite needles and our most delicious projects.  And croissants.

This lady does also, so why aren’t we doing something about this dearth of relaxed knitting time???
