I love sharing pictures of my finished projects — but sometimes getting a good photo is difficult. I have been trying to get a satisfactory photo of my newly completed “Circus in the Woods” shawlette for about a week. The challenge being that it is long and narrow and features many different colors of yarn. Actually, the characteristics that make it such a dynamite piece (and so very wearable) are what make it hard to photograph! It is one of the rare pieces that I have knit twice — the first time as the Jimmy Beans Craftvent knit-along project from December 2017 (designer Rachel Roden). They provided the yarns — delicious ones in grays, purple, orange! I have worn it so much that I decided to knit it again in an entirely different color way —something kind of wild! And when I started putting yarns together I found myself tempering some very vivid yarns with some very earthy ones — or was it the other way around? Not sure. But as it all came together it made me think of a circus in the woods.
This is a nice detail photo — but doesn’t really give you the scope of the piece
Here is a more complete photo — but it kind of looks like a dragon curled up like that!
Sarah helped me out with this one — better!
But my favorite way to show it is as it is meant to be worn!
With joy! Thank you, Evelyn!
