We interrupt the Fall Knitting to bring you a little Fall Crochet!

Sarah and I found this book by Lydia Tresselt last year and swooned!

Not only are the buggies ADORABLE, but we loved the fact that the wings of the butterflies are attached to a tube that slides up onto the caterpillar bodies!  My grandkids, especially Evelyn, were delighted with the prospect of a set of sweet crocheted butterflies and such to play with.  Evelyn was enraptured!  And could hardly wait!

And, bless her heart, she has had to wait rather a long time — because there is a lot of intricate crochet involved.  And while Sarah and I are both pretty decent crocheters, we don’t crochet very much.  So we would work on them — and then get distracted by a vacation at the Beach or Christmas or the laundry….and then we would have to pick it up and have to re-figure it out….and then we would get distracted again…and this has gone on for over a year.

But Evelyn has been a stalwart and resolute cheerleader (perhaps taskmaster would be a better word!).  And we have committed ourselves to getting a nice set of these crochet creatures complete this Fall.  Our progress for far:
