I do not know if there is such a thing as “Thanksgiving Eve” — but it always feels like the end of Autumn to me (tho I am fully aware that the Solstice and the official first day of Winter is nearly a month off).  We are bumping up against Thanksgiving — and then the Holiday Season rushes down upon us!

I have enjoyed the quiet of November after our festive birthday-studded and Halloween-filled October.  And I have happily completed a few satisfying Autumn projects 🙂

The “Hitherto” hat by Hunter Hammersen.  Highly entertaining lace knitting!  I am delighted that I have the pattern for the matching fingerless mitts “Henceforth” — I feel these will be just as cheery to wear in Winter and Spring.

Also from Hunter Hammersen, this adorable elf — the pattern is “Nestled” — I am knitting him (her?) some companions.  I think of these as for elves for all seasons 🙂

The “Halloween Shawl” of my own design was completed a little while after its namesake holiday (the fringe was time-consuming, but worth it!) and I have been enjoying it all November.  It looked festive hanging with my other shawls in the living room too.

And now that the Autumn Knitting is complete, what next?  Christmas and Winter knits, of course!  Hats for all 6 grandkids — I let them choose the colors and the figures that will decorate them.  I have a few other projects in my bags and up my sleeves, too.  And with December looking to be a bit quieter than usual for us, I anticipate much cozy knitting time.  Wishing Everyone a Bright, Blessed, and Beautiful Thanksgiving — and even if your celebration (like ours) is smaller than usual, may it be heartfelt and hopeful.
