I have had some great Summer Knitting!  On the deck, beside the pool, around the campfire, at the beach….And here is my Camping (and Beach) Knitting Shawl which is finally done!

It is actually “Ribbon Wrap” by illitilli — but as I have lugged it to and fro on camping and beach trips, it has been (and will always be) My Camping Shawl.  It is wooly and warm — perfect for outdoors in Autumn and indoors in Winter.  I am so happy with the dynamic copper and blue.  It feels very Finnish to me :)

While on our beach trip this month, I crocheted a water bottle sling bag.  Having seen a woman at the pool with one, I thought both “Oooo that looks useful!” and “Oooo I could make one!”  And I did and it is!  Tho I confess I finished it at the tail end of our trip and was only able to use it once there.  Still, I know I will use it while trotting around the zoo, soccer fields, etc. here at home.

The design is “Water Bottle Holder” by Stormy Day Crafts.  I crocheted it with black linen.  I think it is pretty chic!

Some of my Summer Knitting is going to morph into Autumn Knitting and some is going to be set aside for now — to be finished next Spring, hopefully 🙂 It is not a bad thing to arrive on the other side of Winter with a half-knit Summer Sweater to conjure thoughts of warm, sunny days!

And before August slips away, one last Summer Knitting memory.
