Yesterday I spent some time knitting lace out on the deck — one of my favorite places to knit! I am soaking up these last warm dry afternoons because we all know that it will soon be time to settle indoors.
But for now, there is sunshine and deck knitting! Our cat, Gerhardt, snoozed on a chair nearby. And I also found myself drowsing about midway through a plain knitting row once or twice. Still recovering from our fabulous trip to Greece and Croatia — and finding myself getting sleepy or hungry at odd times!
It is lovely to get back to knitting wool after my summer of cotton and linen yarns. I love them, but they do not have the elasticity of wool yarn and my hands get fatigued more easily when I knit with them. I knit a sweet little cotton shawlette for our trip — called Marcella because it is shroom-colored. It was perfect for the hot climate!
Home again, I am adjusting to the chill of Autumn. My feet get cold and I start hunting around for a half-finished pair of socks to complete!
