Without further ado, the Owl That Went To Portland (on
time!):

My Mother loved it!
And has asked me to knit her a hat too!
(actually, she hinted around until I offered)  She wants one like the hat Sarah knit for
Gwen (my parents have a photo of her in it).
And when I asked about colors, Mother said she liked the bright colors
of Gwen’s hat!  Fuschia — with accents
of pink and melon and few other fun colors.
So, Sarah and I went yarn shopping, of course.  We found a beautiful raspberry
wool/cashmere/silk blend (Cashsilk  from
Laines du Nord) for the main color and a zesty accent yarn – gray with shiny
bands of raspberry and various shades of orange (Nashua Daylily).  Sophisticated!

It is nearly Halloween – which means we are busting out
costumes!  Chess Pieces (Black king and
queen, White king and queen) – oh, there is
pleather involved!  And Max’s promised
wolf suit (ala Where The Wild Things Are).  I am knitting and crocheting masks from
StitchDiva’s pattern for the adult costumes.

Since it is the week before Halloween, we are also plotting
the Holidays.  So, our conversations run
something like:

What should we do for all the cousins for Christmas and who
is picking Sasha up form the airport the day before Thanksgiving?

I don’t know, but maybe Jeff and what are we doing for
Christmas cards and is this tail wolf-y enough?

Probably.  I ordered
some and please hack me off another piece of that pleather, but what are we
going to do for all the cousins for Christmas?

Love the owl, colors look so real. Let us know when he has a name.
