Today:  March 29, 1910

Today is “loud sock” day for girls
at the high school.  Girls came out with
noisy hosiery in blue, red, yellow, green, purple and white.  No two stockings worn by one girl
matched.  Last year a few girls observed
the day at the same time the boys did and there was trouble.  No one knows what will happen this year with
such a large number of girls participating.

I suppose if there wasn’t another article stating that riots broke out 100 years ago due to girls wearing wild socks, then things must have gone okay!
