So far, I have 6 check marks (out of 50).  That works out to 2-a-day for 3 days.  Not counting today — which is not over yet.  I admit that I have been busy in other directions today and have not picked up my needles yet, but we rented some movies and I plan to have a productive evening and get another 2 check marks!

I think the system is working.  At this rate, I could actually complete all 9 projects in less than a month!  That has me pretty excited.  Some of these are things that just need to get done.  Two of them are second socks, for crying out loud!  Some are promised (like Max's sweater — I showed him the completed back and he asked if he could put it on and, then, when it became evident that it was not yet in the "putting on" stage, he was clearly not impressed and, tho he did say it in so many words, I felt there was no point in my bringing it to his attention until it was something he could put on — the little pragmatist!).  Some need are design projects that need to get written up into patterns.

Which brings up the "process" knitter vs "product" knitter issue.  I have never felt that I fall fully into one camp or the other.  I love to knit things.   And I love knitted things.  There are knitted things I would like to have that I cannot see myself knitting (some very chic pieces in the current Verena magazine that are a lot of stockinette, for example).  But if I feel excited about knitting (and/or designing) something, you cannot keep me away — except with some very, very stern words from Sarah.  So, maybe I tend more toward "process" knitter.

But the weight of the Undone has been curdling my "process" knitting happiness.  So, the "product" knitter in me has leapt forward and taken charge with the little "check mark" circles system.  There is some personal challenge going on here that is energizing — sooo, to the needles!  There are 2 check mark circles with today's date on them!

Good for you! Sometimes it just takes having a list to check off.
