My son-in-law Jordan said that he had always thought that a textile with the word “cloth” in its name had to be woven (he did not actually say the word “textile” – though he is a smart man and probably could have). You know: tablecloth, bread cloth, altar cloth…
Mais non! Sarah and I – gratified that anyone in the family wanted to be enlightened regarding textiles – jumped into instructor mode. We said, you can knit a tablecloth; you can crochet a tablecloth –

It was really, really funny at the time.
