So, I have actually been charting my progress on the To-Be-Done-Before-The-Beach projects over the past 3 days and here are the results (presented in brutally scientific actual-really-and-truly numbers in chart form!).
Tam (10 rounds per day/30 for 3 days)
Day 1 Day 2 Day 3 Total
5 2* 6 13
*(plus tinking back and re-knitting a round because I had dropped a stitch)
Butterfly Q’mitl Lace Panel (2” per day/ 6” for 3 days)
Day 1 Day 2 Day 3 Total
2” 0 0 2”
Gull Pi Shawl (3 pattern repeats per day/ 9 for 3 days)
Day 1 Day 2 Day 3 Total
1 ½ 0 ¼ 1 ¾
Otter Rock Sweater (4” per day/12” for 3 days)
Day 1 Day 2 Day 3 Total
3” 0 5 ½” 8 ½”
Butterfly Q’mitl Butterflies (1 butterfly per day/3 for 3 days)
Day 1 Day 2 Day 3 Total
0* ½ ¼ ¾
*(actually finished up one that was almost done from before I started this chart)
Statistically speaking, I am running at about 30% over all. The Gull Pi Shawl is looking a bit woeful, but the Otter Rack Sweater is pretty promising.
A wise voice (which sounds suspiciously like Sarah) has suggested that I knock a few projects off this list and focus on getting the others done.
But all sensibile-ness aside, I find myself experiencing a tremendous attack of Impending Grandmother-dom! As in, wanting to have something especially lovely for Sonja’s baby shower in two weeks! The Tea Leaf Jacket is done (except for te sleeves being sewn on and I have to find some buttons) – but it really needs a pair of knitted pants and socks and a hat….well, okay, maybe socks or a hat.
Hmmm. Well, I will keep charting and see what develops.
