I finished the baby hats, the Bokeh Tank (shown in the blocking stage below), the Mary Jane booties (except for finding and sewing on buttons). And the Autumn rains have come. And I have started reading “Game of Thrones” on my Kindle. All of which meant it was time to wake up my Caramel cardigan.
I began this piece last Fall — fired up with inspiration from Pendleton wool blanket color ways and the practical need for a nice heavy cardigan. It fell asleep during the Christmas rush and, apparently, slept the Winter away too. It has patiently waited out Spring and Summer dozing in my studio.
And here we are back in Fall (gotta love the magic of the cycle of seasons — almost like going back in time!) and I am waking up my Caramel and loving it! Gorgeous Tosh DK yarn: whiskey barrel, filigree, jasper. It is all stockinette — a little shaping and a little striping, but otherwise just rows and rows of knit and purl. Hence the “Game of Thrones” on my Kindle! I swear I could spend all day reading and knitting this way π
And speaking of joyfulness, here is my adorable grand-daughter Colette rocking her cloches!
