Today is gray and rainy. Good blanket knitting weather. Which is a very good thing because I am currently working on 3 blanket projects. Two of which are actually blankets — the third is my Caramel cardigan which is quite blanket-like.
One blanket is Colette’s Yzma Blanket. A million million tiny hot pink stitches. And some hot pink guilt because she is 5 months old and the blanket is only half done. The other blanket is one I just started this weekend while watching the NCAA tournament games (Go Zags! They were on fire in yesterday’s game! But I digress…). It is a wedding gift for my niece and her husband of nine months. According to the rules of etiquette, I have 3 months to get it done before I need to feel guilty. It is big blanket…well, it will be big (at present it is about 58″ x 4″). The gorgeous Kex Blanket by Stephen West. It is done in worsted yarn on nice fat US 8 needles in a ” moves along quickly because you can see just what you are supposed to be doing” slip stitch pattern. But it is a big blanket.
The Caramel cardigan by Isabell Kraemer is getting close done. Unless you count the sleeves. And I am going to want those sleeves.
So, it is a good thing it is a gray wet day and perfect for blankety knitting. Because I have a great deal of blankety-blank knitting to do!
